Netrunner 4.2 – Dryland SE

We are preparing our next release:
Netrunner 4.2 called “Dryland – Second Edition”.

As the name indicates, it will continue on the Dryland cycle, yet be a full release that includes all the latest stuff from precise pangolin (and then some).

Since it is based on upcoming Kubuntu 12.04, we hope to have it ready 2 weeks after their official release.

An upgrade tool is also being tested to allow upgrading from Dryland -> Dryland SE.

      Since 4.2 is based on Kubuntu 12.04 LTS, it will have the same upgrades that are available for Kubuntu base for 5 years.
      I heard Kubuntu is also seeking to offer professional support from another company, so one can hopefully get that as well again if needed.

    CMPlayer (http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/CMPlayer?content=146872) is the best video player that I used.
    Much better than Gnome-mplayer. Unfortunately does not work in kubuntu 12.04. Yet!
    Also, worth attention TV-maxe (http://code.google.com/p/tv-maxe/), ppa: https://launchpad.net/~venerix/+archive/blug, an application for watching TV channels (sopcast).

    Hope pulse audio will be included on this release. Cause 4.1 dryland, skype microphone not working without installing pulse audio. thanks and God bless netrunner team…

      New PulseAudio 2.x will be in next Netrunner 5 Enigma.
